About us
Yinka Ilori is a multidisciplinary London-based artist of British-Nigerian heritage, who specialises in storytelling by fusing the two identities of his descent to convey untold narratives in contemporary design. He began his practice in 2011 by up-cycling vintage furniture, inspired by the traditional Nigerian parables and West African fabrics that surrounded him as a child.

The studio consists of a team of colour-obsessed architects, designers and thinkers, with the expertise and capacity to take on public realm projects, large-scale architectural-spatial projects along with smaller scale interior design and product design projects. The studio continues to experiment with the relationship between function and form, with an output that sits between traditional divisions of art, design and architecture.
We are looking for a Freelance Junior Graphic Designer to support the Yinka Ilori Team and the YIO Brand on its multifaceted journey.
Responsibilities
• Execute graphic design-related tasks including product, branding, print, artworks, visual identity, architecture and public realm
• Liaise across Yinka Ilori Studio Team (Art and Design) as well as the Yinka Ilori Objects Team (Homeware/Lifestyle Brand)
• Development of patterns and artwork files from scratch
• Creation of newsletters and general assets
• Following established creative and brand aesthetics while supporting with new inspirations and creativity in the studio
• Support research, design and development
• Create visually engaging presentations and provide aesthetic support to the team for all studio and presentation materials
Essential Skills
• Previous experience designing visual identities for products
• Being able to execute imaginative patterns and graphic concepts and develop further
• Good understanding of colour, composition and print-to-product processes
• Ability to work across a variety of mediums, have strong drawing skills and the ability to understand, develop and elevate the studio handwriting
• Proficient computer skills including Photoshop, Adobe and Illustrator and CAD comfortable and confident in Mac OS, Office 365, and have basic InDesign skills
• Great time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to multiple deadlines
• Previous experience working as part of a design team
• Able to work at speed: both in collaboration with others and also independently
• Providing solutions with a positive outlook; ability to juggle a number of projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrate excellent agility, identifying consumer trends
• Interested in design and the creative industries
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalism
• Positive can-do attitude
