About Us: Designwerk is a proudly independent creative agency based in London. We specialise in brand development, digital design, and storytelling for some of the world's most iconic brands. With a strong focus on the sports and entertainment industries, we are passionate about challenging the status quo and delivering creative excellence.

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Brand Strategist to join our innovative team. With at least 3-5 years of in-house or agency experience, you will bring a robust background in strategic development and brand storytelling.

You will have experience working alongside designers, marketers and with clients to create highly effective strategy for both brand and creative. Our ideal candidate has a strong passion and deep understanding of the sports and entertainment industries.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with our creative and business development teams to drive innovative brand strategies for some of the world's most iconic brands from conception through execution. This role could start as a contract position, with the potential to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

Business and Market Analysis:

  • Assess new business opportunities in collaboration with the Business Development team, focusing on brand, experiential, and campaign strategies within the sports and entertainment sectors.
  • Conduct thorough research and audits to inform project strategies, including data analysis, market research, and competitor audits specific to the sports and entertainment industries.

Strategic Planning and Development:

  • Develop comprehensive strategic proposals based on project briefs.
  • Create and present strategic concept themes to clients, including pitch ideations and conceptualizations.
  • Develop project timelines and set project parameters in coordination with Project Managers.
  • Design and lead strategy workshops with clients to establish project direction, SWOT analysis, and strategic goals.

Brand Strategy:

  • Formulate brand strategy outputs such as mission, vision, values, positioning, persona, and tone of voice specifically tailored for sports and entertainment brands.
  • Develop naming strategies, including research, narrative creation, and presentation of alternatives.
  • Create brand guidelines and tone of voice guides, ensuring alignment with client objectives in the sports and entertainment fields.

Creative Strategy:

  • Develop creative strategies including brand worlds, campaign narratives, experiential themes, and creative pillars.
  • Run workshops with client teams to uncover big ideas and potential for creative campaigns.
  • Workshop and coordinate with the creative team to inspire creative uptake and ensure strategic alignment in all creative outputs.
  • Liaise with designers throughout the creative ideation process to ensure consistency with strategic goals.

Client and Team Collaboration:

  • Facilitate client presentations, explaining strategic concepts and developments.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and external creatives, creating briefs for scripts, photography, and other creative needs.
  • Develop strategy resources including deck templates, workshop templates, and strategy briefing documents.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Strategist, preferably in a creative agency or similar environment.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to create compelling strategic narratives and concepts.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with content management systems and CRM tools.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for the sports and entertainment industries, with a deep understanding of the latest trends and market dynamics.

Desirable:

  • Experience in brand strategy and creative strategy development within the sports and entertainment sectors.
  • Background in market research and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends in sports marketing, entertainment branding, and digital engagement.
