A great opportunity has opened at Designwerk for an experienced, commercially-minded Business Development Manager from a media, advertising, or creative agency background to join our growing, independent creative agency based in East London.

Joining as the only dedicated Business Development Manager, we welcome a fresh perspective on ways to improve our client’s and our own business - if you’re looking for greater autonomy, greater influence on strategic decision making and support from a close-knit, dedicated design team, this just might be the place for you!

You should have a history of selling agency services to key decision makers, Marketing Directors and Brand Directors, and an enviable little black book of contacts. You will have a deep understanding of the nature of creative agencies and be adept at considering the needs of an industry, recognising parallels in existing client challenges and being eager to build new opportunities by connecting with people – both remote and in-person.

To be successful in this role you will be a highly motivated self-starter and a team player, with high standards - attention to detail is crucial. You will be identifying new sales opportunities by driving and owning the sales lifecycle as well as implementing and suggesting software, processes and structure.

Although this role is partly remote, studio culture is really important and we are looking for someone who will dive into studio life with gusto!

The detail:

Prospecting:

- Understanding new business targets and proactively suggesting ways in which to achieve them

- Researching and speaking up when uncovering new potential opportunities

- Using agency tools to assist in development of target lists, timelines and strategies

- Identify partnership opportunities through partner research and strategic partner development

Pitching:

- RFP responses

- Credentials and case studies creation

- Presenting to new clients and prospects

- Creation of costs proposals and scope of works

- Think critically when planning to assure project success

Client relationship management:

- Finding and actively pursuing opportunities and growth with existing client relationships in collaboration with the project and design team.

- Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and help company expand

- Help maintain existing business

Skills:

+5 years experience in similar roles with demonstrable results

- Strong experience in business development and new business pitching from lead generation to winning new accounts and projects

- A strong relationship builder who is approachable and professional is essential - this role will be a key client facing position representing the business

- Ability to multitask; manage multiple deadlines and different (often senior) stakeholders at once

- Proficient in Google Workspace

- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, in particular creating presentations in InDesign
