Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an Associate Creative Director to take the lead on creative concepting and copywriting at a fun and thriving marketing agency- TMW Business. At TMW Business, most of the work we do sits under the B2B umbrella – within tech, the public sector, finance, healthcare and more. However, we also take on B2C projects from time to time, so you can expect a healthy dose of variety, with no two weeks the same.

Speaking of variety, we’re looking for someone who can jump seamlessly between hands-on writing, high-level concepting and overseeing campaign work. This includes being able to handle quick turnarounds and tight-deadline client requests. It’s all about getting the balance right so we can continue producing award-winning creative – while having a whole load of fun along the way.

The team (many of whom are based in and around Reading) work flexibly, splitting time between working from home and TMW’s main London (Soho) office. We only ask that you’re up for collaborating in person during key projects and pitches.

About the role...

  • We believe that creativity can make anything better – whether it’s a film for a cloud software brand or an email for a packaging company. As ACD, you’ll need to be able to work across a wide range of mainly B2B (and sometimes B2C) clients.
  • You’ll also be involved in a significant amount of pitching, so confidence in front of clients is a must.
  • You’ll be a job juggler and a natural leader, happy to manage a small team and lead other creatives on to greatness.
  • Creative concepting, impeccable copywriting skills and flexibility across different channels and formats are key to this role.
  • At this level, we expect a certain amount of autonomy and speed in getting ideas from scrappy concepts to well-rounded, client-ready presentations.
  • We also expect you to take ownership on accounts where appropriate, while fostering a strong sense of collaboration with art directors, creative directors, designers and the wider agency.
  • You’ll be great at building strong working relationships with colleagues and external suppliers to make every piece of work the best it can be. That includes knowing when and how to challenge others.
  • As a highly experienced wordsmith, you’ll have the talent to turn around beautiful, on-brief copy.
  • You’ll show passion for the craft in all of your writing, from headlines to social ads to video scripts to ebooks (across different tones of voice, of course). And, if a client doesn’t have a TOV, you’ll be able to develop a unique and fresh one just for them. We like writers who love to write – passion and pragmatism should go hand in hand, after all.
  • Our new ACD will have the drive and commitment to see things through from start to finish. The ability to critically assess a brief and spot potential pitfalls and opportunities.
  • Present to internal stakeholders and clients alike, embracing every opportunity to do so.
  • You create brilliant ‘wish I’d thought of that’ ideas that win awards and pitches, with the portfolio to prove it
  • You combine big-picture vision with painstaking craft.
  • You display brilliant copywriting skills across long-, medium- and short-form.
  • You understand how to use different channels to bring your ideas to life.
  • You put as much effort into the little jobs as you do the big ones.
  • You collaborate well with everyone.
  • You work proactively, autonomously and with CDs.
  • You can inspire and lead other creatives to work wonders with words.
  • You help with the agency output as a whole, and the people who make it happen.
  • You have significant, proven B2B experience, and keep up with industry trends
