Do you have a vision of what the future of Travel publishing could look like? DK Travel are looking for an inspired and driven creative designer to spearhead the design of the DK Eyewitness Travel List.

As Managing Art Editor, you will oversee the whole design process transforming initial concepts into visually stunning final products. You will confidently know how to schedule and budget a title, problem solve, and have had experience of dealing with the day to day process of overseeing a team of designers. This hands-on role will empower you to commission and collaborate with the best freelancers to bring your vision to life.

You will have the support of the Art Director but you should have the confidence to effectively execute your design ambition across all areas of process and workflow. This is an amazing opportunity for a senior level designer who wants to take the leap and build the list they want, all while embracing line manager responsibilities.

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate:

  • Proof of your ability to stretch the boundaries of conventional design (print and digital)
  • Initiative, ideas and a highly creative approach
  • Excellent understanding of all stages in the process of commissioning and
  • Producing all content for book publishing
  • Effective and clear communication skills with freelancers and with our teams across the globe
  • Proven ability to project-manage a busy growing list, whilst meeting tight deadlines and budgets without compromising quality
  • Ability to thrive under pressure
  • Confidence to effectively convey your ideas to key stakeholders and Senior members of the company
  • A passion for travel and the travel market
  • Commercial and consumer awareness of publishing industry trends
