Role Title: Design Lead
Reporting to: Creative Director (Founder)
Experience: 8 + years minimum
Location: Hybrid with 3 days a week at our Headquarters in Chalk Farm, North West London
Contract type: Full time, 4-5 days a week
Working Hours: Flexi-time schemes based around core working hours 8.45 – 5.30pm
Salary: Competitive

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join House of Baukjen as Design Lead.
In this role, you will be the Design Lead for our brands, Baukjen and Isabella Oliver, across branding, websites, email, paid ads, videos and more, in addition to ongoing ad hoc projects. You will manage the design direction, from research and ideation through to final design and implementation. You will work with our Creative Director and will manage the execution of the design direction across all channels, ensuring the highest standard of creative as well as consistency for the brands.
You will be a proactive person, brimming with ideas and enthusiasm and will have the experience to translate this across our customer touchpoints.
You will lead our small in-house art team, inspiring and working with them to always deliver the highest standard creative. You will also liaise with external agencies and work with our own team on day to day business as well as special projects.
This role requires the successful candidate to be both inspirational as well as current. You will be a motivational mentor, staying up to date with industry trends and evolving technologies to ensure you bring innovative ideas to the Creative Director to keep our brands evolving.
About You
• You are passionate about leaving the planet in a better place
• You have strong experience designing for primarily digital marketing channels including websites, emails, paid ads, video and social media etc
• You’re also confident in brand identity design, brand campaigns and art direction
• You have a keen eye for typographic detail
• You’re fluent in Adobe Creative Suite
• You’ve run plenty of design projects, from research to producing final assets
• You’re a self-starter, self-motivated, very well organised and proactive
• You have a great work ethic and positive attitude
• You’re a team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills
• You’re able to lead but you are also hands on
• You have strong typographic and layout skills
• You’re passionate about design
• You can multi-task in a fast pace environment and you have strong time management skills
• You have an excellent eye for detail
• You have a background or interest in fashion
• An understanding of UI/UX is a bonus
• Experience in art directing at shoots is also a bonus
