Job Description

ABOUT US

Not Actual Size is a collective of creatives and strategists who build respect for brands. We are an independent, employee-owned B Corp, working in partnership with Global brands such as Dove, Sure/Rexona, and Roche.

Our services cover the creative spectrum – from truly social-first content creation to turning unseen insights into campaign ideas. We also never forget the beautiful basics and take pride in crafting product pages or lifestyle shots that truly resonate – for us, every detail matters. Our strategy team works closely with our creative team and client partners, providing data, insights and reporting to influence decisions and boost innovation.

Our approach to work and culture is based on Radical Respect. It is our rebellion against the noise of an ultra-connected world and it means we give obsessive attention to every quietly significant detail in order to boost relevance for our clients, people and society.

Our team has been continually growing and we’re looking for big thinkers, dot joiners and meaning makers to join us – we have big plans for the future and are looking for an ambitious, proactive and experienced Design Lead to help us go to the next level.

ABOUT YOU

An innovative Design Lead who has experience managing people and a track record of creating compelling digital content and campaigns that stop people in their tracks. You’ll know how to master a broad range of BVIs; design for specific target audiences; and you’ll be confident in sharing your knowledge and skills with clients and the wider team whilst being an advocate for pushing creative boundaries.

You’ll be managing a growing team of 6+ designers, and an integral part of this role is leading and mentoring this team, providing creative inspiration and support across technical design skills. You’ll have a passion for working with people and a desire to manage and grow a team of enthusiastic designers.

You:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience working in creative roles
  • A naturally creative designer, known for consistently delivering work to a high standard
  • A leader who can inspire and direct creative teams - you should have proven experience managing a small team of designers
  • A safeguard of each brand’s visual identity through the rigorous application of the BVI to your designs – as well as creatively and strategically suggesting design developments
  • Have an eye for detail and quality assurance
  • Have an inherent interest in the beauty and personal care industries, and are skilled at scoping out trends and insights
  • Have a passion for technological innovation and how these should inform client briefs
  • Have advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, and in particular an ability to work in After Effects. You should be able to work in Figma and have an appetite to continually develop your skills
  • Have a solid understanding of a broad range of social and digital channels to create content that considers and meets these requirements, as well as pushes boundaries
  • A professional and calm communicator on production sets with clients and creatives, along with showcasing confident and creative art direction
  • A natural team player, willing to lead while valuing openness and collaboration with all team members
  • Able to develop strong relationships with new/potential clients, confidently driving conversations around design quality and constructively challenging briefs and feedback
  • Able to work quickly and calmly to meet all deadlines, juggling multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to dispense design advice along the way to clients and team members
  • Extremely organised, with impeccable attention to detail and an ability to maintain high standards during bursts of activity

ABOUT YOU AT NAS

Our collective is built on our values, of which we embody every day:

  • Immerse: To do a good job we need to truly immerse ourselves in our clients’ world
  • Energy: We enjoy what we do and it shows. We are optimistic and solutions-focused – the people you look forward to meeting with
  • Rigour: We obsess about the details, from the initial brief to the execution. We leave no stone unturned
  • Open: We have a candid approach in how we see problems and discuss solutions. We are transparent and accountable
  • Care: We care about what we do and the impact we have. From delivering the best work to making sure our work is ethical and responsible

We’re proud to offer a range of benefits that help our team thrive personally and professionally.

Alongside 33 days holiday, private health insurance, pension plans, enhanced sick pay, and team lunches and social events, we provide bespoke training packages and weekly cultural listening sessions to fully immerse all employees in the wider industry.

We also offer flexible hybrid working options. Most team members work from our (quite wonderful) office twice a week, but we are happy to discuss what works best for you.

We are a diverse team of creatives, strategists and content managers, and we highly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. We embrace diversity and believe an inclusive, equitable environment is the key to crafting truly meaningful work.
