Role + Responsibilities

  • Confidence managing complex fixed-term jobs, including client and project management, to ensure timely delivery to our silver service standard.
  • Engage with clients and help them understand the motion process and our approach to problem-solving.
  • Management of roadmaps and production: arranging video shoots, sound, and voiceover when needed.
  • Start-to-finish delivery and time management: Concept, Script, Storyboard, Collaboration, Animatic, to Finished Video.
  • Interest and collaboration across our design specialisms (Branding, Product and Website) to craft narratives through motion and help turn ideas into testable prototypes.
  • Work closely with clients to create exceptional animations, video and motion projects demonstrating best practice principles to drive innovation, creativity, and commercial success.
  • Mentorship and guidance for junior/mid-weight designers, providing feedback, support, and tips to help them grow and develop.
  • Advises best practices across the team and appropriate solutions based on creative direction and internal business requirements.
  • Great technical understanding of how to build systems motion patterns and work smarter around technical or budget limitations.

Essential skills + experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as an Animator or Motion Graphics designer, with a strong portfolio that showcases your design skills and process.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of both 2D and 3D animation principles and techniques. Organised workflow with transparent processes. Impeccable sense of pace, rhythm and a deep understanding of motion curves.
  • Ability to produce complex animations in After Effects —expert knowledge of the full Adobe Creative Suite. **Bonus** Experience in C4D, Blender or Maya.
  • Knowledge of broader design principles: Typography, Branding, UI/UX and how to work motion into them.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate your design decisions, rationale, and vision to clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading design projects and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
