Job Description

About Us

Matter of Form is an award-winning, brand & digital design agency. Using strategy, creativity and technology, we help luxury brands design what’s next. We have a deep understanding of discerning audiences and how they expect to engage and interact with brands, both now and in the future.

Discerning customers make decisions based on subtle differences. It’s vital that their experience feels elegant, cohesive and connected. As a result, we strongly believe design is the difference between apathy and action.

About The Role

Matter Of Form is looking for a talented UI Designer to join our creative team and craft timeless design solutions for globally recognised, luxury brands.

It’s the perfect opportunity for a hands-on, motivated and ambitious designer looking for a chance to push boundaries, concept innovative solutions and craft ideas across multiple channels and customer touchpoints. We collaborate with brands which are craft-led so a flair for creating elegant design solutions, alongside an unwavering eye for detail, is essential.

The designer will be involved in projects throughout their lifecycle from initial brief through to final delivery of assets.

Our work is varied and often spans the entire creative process starting with brand development and the UI designer must be skilled at translating brand concepts, ideas and principles into digital experiences.

Ideally, they will be as comfortable working with existing, established brands, and following established guidelines, as they are at developing new brand concepts and visual identities themselves.

We work in a fast paced agile environment and passionately believe the best ideas are born of collaboration so a genuine willingness to work with multiple disciplines, ranging from user experience designers and researchers, writers and strategists, consultants and account teams, and project management is essential. Experience in working closely with development teams to ensure a smooth handover will be key.

In particular, the designer will collaborate closely with the UX team to scamp, ideate and create experiences which are driven by how and why people use products and interact with touchpoints. They will have a thorough understanding of user journeys and wireframes and the need to design against them, as well as an ability to see where the UX can be pushed further.

  • Take ownership of projects from initial briefing to delivery with the ability to work independently or as part of team
  • Willingness to take direction and follow guidance where necessary
  • Exceptional eye for detail ensuring design quality & consistency is maintained throughout the project life-cycle
  • Ability to translate brand ideas, concepts & principles into digital designs
  • Experience developing brand concepts and visual identities is ideal

  • Experience working in an agency or similar environment
  • A diverse portfolio showcasing a range of design solutions, including design ideation, brand identity development and final deliverables

  • A passion for luxury brands with an understanding of how designing experiences for high-net-worth audiences influences design decisions
  • Solid understanding of the CX/UX process
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver to deadlines
  • Self motivated, willingness to learn and the ability to take the initiative
  • Genuine interest in all things digital with a passion for staying on-track with emerging trends & culture, attending events and engaging with the wider creative community
