Magnum: Magnum is a photographic collective founded in 1947. Magnum photographers are a rarity and the agency is self-selecting, with a 4 year long process. The membership has evolved over the years to encompass the work of almost 100 diverse photographers.
We have offices in New York, London, and Paris, and work with press, publishers, advertising, television, galleries and museums across the world. We have a traveling roster of over 100 exhibitions, education initiatives focused on the next generation of visual storytellers, an ecommerce platform, and an editorial platform telling stories across art, culture, news and photography to our audience of over 5.5 million.
About the role: We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator with strong copywriting skills who can develop our organic social channels and manage the content calendar for Magnum. You will help define and implement best-in-class community management in order to maintain a healthy social media environment. And, you will be responsible for tracking and reporting on social media performance monthly to drive learnings for future-focused strategies.
This role will report to the Social Media Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Plan, schedule and optimize the social media calendar in partnership with the Social Media Manager using social media tools such as Later, Hootsuite, Facebook Studio Creator.
- Craft copy and proofread posts for all social channels.
- Brief in social media assets for graphic designer support.
- Daily community management (reactive and proactive) to generate engagement and drive conversion around our posts.
- Relay community feedback to relevant internal stakeholders to develop future-focused strategies.
- Gather metrics and insights from the social media platforms and update reports regularly to continuously improve performance through analysis and insights.
- Support new processes and find opportunities to improve workflows with internal stakeholders and their relevant needs (education, shop, gallery, culture, etc).
- Provide support to the Social Media Manager as needed

- Obsessed with social channels and their nuances-- always researching industry developments, creative trends, and culturally relevant moments to push forward our social media efforts with speed and efficiency.
- Adept at collecting, analyzing, and using data.
- Extremely process-oriented and organized.
- Beginning to develop expertise in social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and understand the unique benefits and challenges of each platform to generate audience growth, engagement, acquisition and reach.
- Experienced in community management and providing customer support.
- Understand key metrics for social media and can translate data into insights.
- Approach projects and team members with a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced, international, entrepreneurial environment and culture
- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
- Availability to monitor socials during weekends as needed.
- Based in London or within the UK
Minimum qualifications:
- 2-4 years professional experience as a social media copywriter at an agency or in-house.
- Experience in using social media tools such as HootSuite, Later, Instagram analytics, Facebook Creator Studio, Twitter analytics, and Google Analytics.
- Understanding of key social media metrics across platforms.
- Strong editorial judgement.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent English required.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in media, publishing, journalism or similar is a plus.
- Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Photoshop
